The Big Event Schedule

Rain or shine please attend The Big Event on Saturday October 22, 2016!  We do have a backup plan in place in the event of inclement weather! Please email bigevent@louisiana.edu for questions.

It is very important to try to carpool as best as possible due to limited parking spaces. Please be mindful of other events going on around campus and follow these directions closely! Residential students are encouraged to walk to the opening ceremony.

7:30 a.m. - Check-In at Martin Hall

Commuting students are asked to carpool and to make their way to one of three available parking lots no later than 7:30 am; There is limited space in each of these lots. Once each lot is filled, remaining event participants must move to one of the other locations.

These lots are:

  • E.K. Long (across from Girard Park, accessed via Girard Park Circle)
  • Griffin Hall (on the corner of E. Lewis and Rex Street, accessed via E. Lewis Street
  • Zone 36 (across from Old Tyme Grocery, accessed via Cherry Street)

The participants’ vehicles will remain on campus until the conclusion of the opening ceremony, at which time the students will either return to their vehicles to make their way to their corresponding work locations or walk if the project site is within walking distance.

On-Campus residents should arrive at the opening ceremony no later than 7:30 am. On-Campus Residents students should use their personal vehicle to travel to their work location and return at the conclusion of the day’s events. Carpooling is strongly suggested when possible.

Please proceed to Martin Hall for check-in. Team Leaders will check in their team. At check-in students will receive a t-shirt and 2 bottles of water.

Team Leaders must check in at 7:00 a.m.
