Ericka Haynes, MBA Since 2012, I have served the incoming freshmen at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Teaching the First-Year Seminar Course, UNIV 100: Mastering the First Year, has been a labor of love and something that has become the Hallmark of my career with the Office of First-Year Experience. I am responsible for helping our First-Year students transition from high school to college and ensuring that they are equipped with the skills and resources necessary to successfully navigate their first year in college. For nearly 15 years, my focus and dedication have been all things Student Success and Transitional Education. Prior to my career in Higher Education, I worked as an Adult Education Teacher, Case Worker, and a Compliance Coordinator for a Fortune 500 Company. My job and duties as a Student Success Associate and UNIV 100 Instructor have allowed me to meet, teach, and inspire so many students. The greatest reward is receiving their graduation invitation and having them share how my class has helped them on their college journey and beyond. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Southern University, Baton Rouge, and my Master of Business Administration in Strategic Leadership from Amberton University, Garland, Texas. While my educational background is in Business, my expertise is in First-Year Student Success Strategies. Each semester offers a new opportunity to serve and support our students, and my colleagues and I are ready and willing to help you on your journey to college success! |
