Cajun Connection

The Office of First-Year Experience (OFYE) is dedicated to assisting all UL Lafayette students transition from high school to college level learning and develop the skills required to be successful during their collegiate career. At the start of the Fall and Spring semesters, the Office of First-Year Experience hosts Cajun Connection as part of the UNIV 100 First-Year Seminar course.

During Cajun Connection, students are introduced to their UNIV 100 instructor, classmates, and peer mentor in a classroom setting. Following introductions, students are provided with an opportunity to get acquainted with the campus and the available resources (from tutoring, to academic resources, to finding your classes, and everything in between). Students have access to the entire campus before the rest of the 19,000 students arrive!

The information provided in Cajun Connection is essential to each student's college success (and it is an incredible bonding experience). Attendance at Cajun Connection is MANDATROY and does count as part of  the student's UNIV 100 course grade.
