The Office of First-Year Experience (OFYE) is recruiting instructors to teach UNIV 100 in Fall 2017. We anticipate there will be up to 120 sections of the course in the Fall semester serving approximately 3,000 first-time freshmen.
The seminar offers instructors the opportunity to teach a course on an area of their expertise and passion to engage students and help them become familiar with academic expectations at the university level. Instructors have the opportunity to get to know their students (average class size is 25). Each section also has a peer mentor to help students make connections with the university. Applications for teaching UNIV 100 are competitive. Prospective instructors propose their topic and describe how they will meet the common learning goals in the course. Each course proposal is reviewed by OFYE. If you are interested in applying to teach in our program, please begin by reading through an overview of the UNIV 100 program.
